Abandoned Chairs by Little Opal

Somebody has stolen my chair.

Hmm.. yes. This doesn’t feel anyway like my chair. Atleast the one I used to be on. When I came in this morning it wasn’t there actually. So I picked one up, hopefully the least used. But it’s gonna give me a backache. I wonder what happened to the old one. I had a look around the place in the morning but couldn’t find him. Poor thing. Now wait one darn sec, do I know what it looks like? hmm.. used to sit on it all right, but didn’t look at it a lot I guess.

Now hope I’d get it soon. I can’t sit on this..

Postscript: Got it back, thank heavens. Oooh.. so comfy after sitting on that saddleless horse. I love you, chairie…

WS-Policy Interop

I participated in WS-Policy inter-operability workshop last week in Ottawa, Canada.
I represented WSAS/Java and WSAS/C implementations. There were implementations from Sun, IBM, Microsoft, Layer7, Axway and BEA.
The interop results were promissing as we can see lots of green boxes. WSAS/Java and IBM implementations were the only implementations which had passed round1, round2 and round3 tests using both WSDL 1.1 and WSDL 2.0. All of the other implementations were successful in WSDL 1.1 test cases. Implementors are still working on round 4 test cases to complete the interop session.
One interesting thing to note was Axway was using Axis2 and Neethi, which WSAS/Java also based on, for interop sessions.

The implementors worked for interop in parallel to the WS-Policy working group meeting.
These were the people who represented different implementations.

In NY, Google Maps Street View

Problem. My shirts have shrunk in the washer. Now only three of my shirts fit comfortably. Now I’m wondering whether to spend over $30 a piece buying more shirts or spend the next few months in tight shirts.Fortunately cooking has not been as difficult as I feared. I did burn a few things, but at least I didn’t burn the ice cream. And I’ve finally gotten the hang of making the morning tea while still technically in REM sleep. And walking with groceries — the supermarket’s about half a mile away and we’ve no car. Everything else has been a breeze. Except for the shrunk shirts.

I’m trying to get rid of this little jingle that goes through my head every morning as I step out to walk to the subway station. It’s the Sesame Street song — “can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street…” Maybe it’s my imagination, but my Jersey City neighborhood looks and feels a lot like Sesame Street to me (expect some pictures once I buy a camera)

Trinity Pl. NY

My usual morning walk to work, by courtesy of the all new Google Maps Street View.

A two minute subway ride under the Hudson takes me to the WTC subway station. I walk past the old WTC site every morning. Sad to think that they’re not there anymore. Every picture of the New York skyline I’ve seen and loved as a child had those two towers. Without them the view feels somehow bare. But still, I never imagined six months ago that I’d be living in New Jersey and walking to work with New York in sight across the Hudson. My colleague N has an even better deal — she’s on a 30th floor apartment with the windows facing in the right direction. The nighttime view is superb. I’m on a ground floor apartment and all I see outside my bedroom window is another apartment building. Bah.

Future google

I’m back here from the future. doncha believe? it’s true… i swear.  I was typing a blog entry & suddenly I understood everything is cahnging around me & at last I got a high-tech surround. I was wondering what’s going on & checked for the date. It was far away from 2007.

I looked at the computer screen. Oh there’s something I’m familiar, Google. What should I search in future google. I was in a dilemma. finally I got an idea.

I googled for “Where’s my Sh*t”. I did this because I didn’t have anything else to do. Do you know what google got for me?

“It’s still there. Where it used to be”. I was amazed. I just collect my mind & asked the gal next seat to search for the same key words. She frowned at me & laughed. then she typed the keywords & hit ENTER.

The results made me  Yeeeks .

“sorry, there were no search results for your search”. And there was “did you mean P*ssy” on top of the results page.

I felt faintish & found myself back here.

Yahoo! Mobile Web

Following up to Google Mobile Applications I thought I’d check out how Yahoo was doing in the mobile web department. I have to say Yahoo looks pretty decent and well thought out with their mobile portal.

The place to start exploring is the Yahoo! Mobile website. There are 2 main ways you can access Yahoo! Mobile from your phone.

  1. Yahoo! Mobile Web at http://m.yahoo.com/
  2. Yahoo! Go is a mobile application that runs in your phone that helps you browse Yahoo services more easily. To install Yahoo! Go go to http://m.yahoo.com/ and click the Y! Go link.
